Jacob & Co. Launches the God of Time: The World’s Fastest Tourbillon
Jacob & Co. has officially broken the record for mechanical rotation speed with the release of the God of Time. This 60-piece limited edition marks a significant technical milestone in horology, specifically designed to celebrate the 60th birthday of the brand's founder, Jacob Arabo. By re-engineering the traditional tourbillon, the brand has achieved a level of kinetic performance that departs from standard watchmaking conventions.

Unprecedented 4-Second Rotation Speed
The centrepiece of the God of Time is its record-breaking tourbillon, which completes a full revolution every four seconds. This speed is 15 times faster than the industry-standard 60-second tourbillon. Such high-velocity rotation is made possible by the Caliber JCAM60, a new hand-wound movement developed specifically for this model.
To manage the immense energy required for this speed, Jacob & Co. utilized a titanium tourbillon carriage weighing only 0.27 grams. This ultra-lightweight construction reduces friction and inertia, allowing the mechanism to maintain its pace without compromising the 60-hour power reserve. A specialized constant force system is also integrated into the movement to ensure that energy is distributed evenly, preventing the rapid rotation from affecting the watch's overall accuracy.
Mythological Design and Construction
The aesthetic of the timepiece is as precise as its engineering, drawing inspiration from ancient Greek architecture and mythology. The 44.5mm rose gold case is fluted to resemble the columns of a Greek temple, providing a structural and classical frame for the dial. Inside, a hand-engraved 18K rose gold sculpture of Chronos, the personification of time, is positioned prominently against a blue aventurine backdrop.
The use of aventurine glass provides a deep, shimmering blue finish that mimics a starry night sky, creating a high-contrast environment for the rose gold elements. The combination of the static sculpture and the high-speed tourbillon serves as a visual representation of the brand’s mastery over chronological movement.
Commemorative Significance and Exclusivity
Beyond its mechanical records, the God of Time serves as a legacy piece. The production run is strictly limited to 60 units, corresponding to the age of Jacob Arabo. This personal connection is emphasized on the caseback, which bears a portrait and the signature of the founder.
By delivering the fastest tourbillon ever produced, Jacob & Co. has shifted the focus of high-end watchmaking from purely aesthetic complexity to extreme mechanical performance. The God of Time functions as a proof of concept for how modern materials like titanium can be used to push the physical limits of traditional complications.
