Franck Muller Unveils Limited Vanguard Schtroumpfette Models

Franck Muller has introduced three limited-edition timepieces within its Vanguard collection, created to mark the release of the animated film The Smurfs Movie.

A Cinematic Inspiration

The models are inspired by the film’s storyline, in which the villainous wizard Gargamel and his brother Razemel capture Papa Smurf. Smurfette rallies the other Smurfs to embark on a rescue mission. Along the journey, the characters discover that time, and how it is used, plays a defining role in shaping destiny.

Design and Variations

All three watches feature the signature tonneau-shaped Vanguard case in stainless steel, each showcasing Smurfette on the dial. Versions are available with or without diamond-set cases. One model is presented in blue, while the other two are rendered in pink, with subtle differences in dial design distinguishing them. The pink references are paired with matching pink straps, while the blue version carries a fully coordinated tone-on-tone aesthetic.

The Vanguard collection, first introduced in 2014, is known for its contemporary interpretation of Franck Muller’s distinctive tonneau case shape, incorporating bold numerals and strong colour themes. It has served as a platform for both technically sophisticated complications and creative collaborations, making it a natural choice for themed limited editions such as the Schtroumpfette series.

Presentation and Availability

The watches are delivered in special presentation boxes styled as magical portals, tying in with the fantasy theme of the film. Each piece is part of a limited run of 100 units.

The collection will be available through Franck Muller boutiques and online via watchespedia.com, with deliveries scheduled to begin on 25 September. Indicative retail pricing is CHF 9,800 for non-diamond versions and CHF 20,800 for diamond-set editions.

Franck Muller and Pop Culture Collaborations

This is not the first time Franck Muller has linked its designs with popular culture. In previous years the brand has produced limited editions inspired by comic book characters, Japanese animation and sporting icons, often combining playful aesthetics with the high-quality Swiss watchmaking for which it is known. Such projects reinforce Franck Muller’s reputation for bold, unconventional creativity in the luxury watch sector.
