Cartier Prize for Watchmaking Talents of Tomorrow 2026 Winners Announced
The winners of the 28th Cartier Prize for Watchmaking Talents of Tomorrow have been announced following this year's competition for young watchmakers from France, Belgium and Switzerland.
The competition's winning model was a watch featuring suspended time, developed using the movement of a Cartier table clock.

Eleven Finalists Competed for the Award
The awards ceremony took place on 24 June 2026, with 11 young watchmakers reaching the final stage of the competition.
Each finalist was given three months and a budget of CHF 500 to develop an original creation based on the movement of a Cartier table clock.
Student Watchmaker Award
The Student Watchmaker prize was awarded to Belgian watchmaker Aymeric Peters for his project, Silence Choisi.
The concept explores the idea of suspended time. In its default mode, the hands remain fixed at the six o'clock position. Turning a key at the base of the case switches the watch from suspended time mode to displaying the current time.
The case is made from wood and brass.
Technical Specialist Award
The Technical Specialist category was won by French watchmaker Arthur Choquet for his creation, Un Instant.
The watch explores the idea of measuring time within a frozen moment. Its design was inspired by the architecture of Paris, the glow of street lighting and the work of photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson.
