Swatch Launches MoonSwatch Mission To The Sun Solar Eclipse
Swatch has introduced a special version of the MoonSwatch Mission To The Sun to coincide with the total solar eclipse on 12 August 2026.
Named the MoonSwatch Mission To The Sun - Solar Eclipse, the watch will be available for just one day. It is scheduled to go on sale only on 12 August at selected Swatch stores in Bilbao, Valencia and Ibiza.
The special release introduces several design details inspired by the astronomical event, combining a bright yellow Bioceramic case with contrasting white and black elements.

Yellow Bioceramic Case With Eclipse-Inspired Details
The Mission To The Sun - Solar Eclipse features a yellow Bioceramic case paired with a dial in a similar shade. White chronograph subdials provide contrast against the yellow background.
The watch is fitted with a white rubber strap featuring a yellow underside with a texture designed to evoke the surface of the Moon.
Another distinctive detail is the black chronograph pusher positioned at 2 o'clock, which provides a visual reference to the eclipse.
The hour markers and chronograph hands are treated with Super-LumiNova to improve visibility in low-light conditions.
New Moon Appears on the Battery Cover
The eclipse theme continues on the back of the watch, where the battery cover features an image of the Moon during its new moon phase.
The detail has a direct connection to the event because a solar eclipse can only occur at new moon, when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun.
Together with the contrasting black pusher, the battery cover strengthens the connection between the design of the watch and the astronomical event it was created to mark.
