A Week Dedicated to Watch Culture
Alongside the main exhibition, the city will see an expanded “In the City” programme aimed at engaging a wider public with watchmaking culture. Participating brands are set to organise presentations and events in their boutiques throughout the week, while the traditional Thursday celebration will include a musical performance staged around the lake.
Each day from 17:00 to 23:00, the waterfront at Quai Général-Guisan will host live concerts and DJ sets by emerging international artists. The programme will be organised in a jazz club format in partnership with the Montreux Jazz Festival.
The Watchmakers’ Village
At Pont de la Machine, a dedicated Watchmakers’ Village will offer introductory workshops in horology as well as information sessions on career paths and professional development. These activities are organised with the support of the Swiss Association of Employers in the Watch Industry.
For the third consecutive year, students from the Lausanne University of Art and Design will present immersive installations exploring new ways of perceiving time as part of the ongoing partnership with the institution.
Innovation and Heritage
The redesigned space known as The LAB will showcase around 15 start up projects selected from more than 60 applications. Selection criteria include innovation, sustainability, social impact and relevance to watch production.
This year’s programme also features the exhibition Wake Up!, which traces the history and use of the alarm clock from the Middle Ages to the present day. The full programme will be released on 10 March.
