Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveils Fifth The Collectibles Capsule Collection

On 6 February 2026, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the fifth capsule collection within its The Collectibles programme. This latest edition brings together eight rare Reverso models dating from 1931 to 1937. The presentation is being held at the brand’s boutique on Madison Avenue in New York and will run until 23 February.

The Collectibles initiative highlights historically significant vintage timepieces that illustrate the evolution of the manufacture’s design and technical expertise. In this instance, the focus rests on early Reverso models that trace the formative years of what would become one of the most recognisable rectangular watches in Swiss horology.

Highlights of the Collection

Reverso 1931 with black dial

This early example features a railway minute track and trapezoidal hour markers, design elements that later inspired the contemporary Reverso Tribute line.

Two tone Reverso, 1936

Produced in steel and yellow gold of 350 fineness, this 1936 model is equipped with calibre 410, the first movement developed by Jaeger-LeCoultre specifically for the Reverso collection. The bi metal construction reflects the aesthetic preferences of the period.

Reverso with small seconds, 1937

Fitted with calibre 413, the fourth manufacture movement created for Reverso, this version features a black dial signed Jaeger-LeCoultre. The presence of the combined name marks the 1937 unification of the Jaeger and LeCoultre brands.

Reverso 1931 Dame, two tone case

This ladies’ model combines a yellow gold case and lugs with white gold gadroons, creating a refined contrast that accentuates the geometry of the reversible case.

Reverso 1931 Dame with blued hands

Distinguished by heat blued hands and a double signature on the dial, this example indicates delivery to a limited circle of prestigious retailers.

Ladies’ Reverso 1931 with bracelet

Instead of the typical slim rope style calf leather strap, this version is fitted with a chromed bracelet echoing the same braided aesthetic, reflecting period trends in feminine watch design.

Two Reverso 1931 models with black dials

Presented respectively on black and brown calf leather straps, these watches exemplify the restrained elegance characteristic of the earliest Reverso references.

Together, the eight timepieces offer a concise yet compelling overview of the Reverso’s early development, from dial variations and case constructions to the introduction of proprietary calibres and evolving brand identity.
