Rolex Daytona Lucca Rubinacci Signature by Artisans de Genève
Artisans de Genève has unveiled a new bespoke project based on the Rolex Daytona, created for Luca Rubinacci, a Neapolitan tailor and creative director of the Italian menswear house Rubinacci. The watch reflects Rubinacci’s personal background and aesthetic sensibilities, incorporating colours and textures inspired by his Italian heritage.
The piece is based on the Rolex Daytona Ref. 116508, a model originally produced in yellow gold. As with other commissions completed by the Geneva based workshop, the watch has been reinterpreted through a combination of decorative refinements and personalised design elements.

Dial Colours Inspired by Naples
The dial design draws heavily on themes associated with Naples and Italian culinary culture. The chronograph counters are finished in a warm tone reminiscent of freshly baked bread, while their hands are coloured in a deep red shade inspired by sun dried tomatoes.
The main dial surface features coffee inspired hues that reference Rubinacci’s Neapolitan roots. A subtle gradient across the dial evokes the visual texture of espresso residue and crema left at the bottom of a cup.
Together these colours create a palette intended to evoke the atmosphere of southern Italy while maintaining the recognisable layout of the Daytona chronograph.
Movement Decoration
Particular attention has been given to the finishing of the movement. For the first time in an Artisans de Genève project, the traditional Geneva stripes typically used on the bridges have been replaced with a new decorative pattern.
The motif takes inspiration from the stone paving found on the streets of Naples, creating a texture that connects the mechanical interior of the watch with the cultural references expressed on the dial.
Case and Strap
The watch retains the yellow gold case of the original Daytona reference. Alongside the factory bracelet, Rubinacci requested an additional strap crafted from ostrich leather.
The leather was sourced from an ostrich farm in Tuscany, a region known for its long tradition of leather craftsmanship. The strap is finished in a coffee coloured tone that echoes the dial’s palette and subtly reflects Rubinacci’s profession in tailoring and luxury garments.
Customisation Cost
According to Artisans de Genève, the cost of the bespoke modification for the Daytona Lucca Rubinacci Signature amounts to approximately CHF 26,520, excluding the original watch used as the base for the project.
