A Legacy of Excellence in Watchmaking
Born in Geneva in 1940, Jean-Pierre Hagmann's career spanned several decades, during which he collaborated with numerous prestigious Swiss watch brands, including Andersen Genève, Franck Muller, and Blancpain. His cases, identifiable by the "JHP" hallmark, were celebrated for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Notably, his work on cases for Patek Philippe's minute repeaters was acclaimed for their superior acoustic properties.
Mentorship and Influence
In 2018, at the age of 78, Hagmann transferred ownership of his workshop to Vacheron Constantin. There, he served as an instructor in jewellery and case-making and as a restorer of antique pieces, sharing his extensive knowledge and skills with a new generation of artisans. After a brief hiatus, he returned to work in late 2019, joining the Geneva workshop of Akrivia, founded by Rexhep Rexhepi, where he continued to influence contemporary watchmaking.
Recognition of a Master Craftsman
In November of the previous year, Jean-Pierre Hagmann's contributions to the watch industry were honoured with a Special Jury Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, underscoring his significant impact on horology.
