Hublot Unveils the Big Bang MECA-10 Aspen One

Hublot has introduced its latest timepiece, the Big Bang MECA-10 Aspen One, marking the third chapter in its ongoing partnership with the ski resort powerhouse, Aspen One. While luxury brands often team up with individual athletes or sporting events, this collaboration stands out by aligning with an entire resort group that manages ski facilities, accommodations, and retail establishments. Established in 2019, the relationship between Hublot and Aspen One appears to be going strong.

The MECA-10 Aspen One follows the announcement of a smaller 42mm model at LVMH Watch Week in January. However, this limited edition sticks with the bold 45mm case, embodying Hublot’s signature fusion of materials. It features a matte black ceramic midcase, a crisp white ceramic bezel, and a white rubber-lined calfskin strap with contrasting black stitching. The skeletonized dial prominently displays the MECA-10 movement, allowing key components like the balance wheel and power reserve’s linear rack gear to stand out in silver against the dark bridges.

A Closer Look at the Details
One fascinating feature of this movement is its repositioned balance wheel, which is flipped atop one of the bridges, making it fully visible while worn. Small red accents are scattered throughout the caliber, each tied to various power reserve indicators for the manually wound movement, which boasts an impressive 10-day reserve. Adding a final nod to Aspen’s mining heritage, the 12 o’clock marker is replaced with a silver-toned Aspen leaf emblem, originally designed by Austrian artist Herbert Bayer.

The Big Bang MECA-10 Aspen One is priced at $27,400 and is a non-limited special edition, available exclusively at Hublot boutiques across the U.S.

Our Take
This watch stays true to Hublot’s DNA—bold, mechanical, and unmistakably distinctive. The contrast of black and white ceramic is a relatively rare move for the brand, which typically pairs ceramic with gold or titanium. This dual-tone ceramic aesthetic works exceptionally well, and it would be exciting to see more of this fusion concept in future collections.

While this version doesn’t include the refinements seen in this year’s 42mm models—such as hand-finished anglage and refined typefaces—it still maintains the industrial charm that defines the MECA-10. The HUB1201 movement remains one of the most visually engaging in Hublot’s lineup, perfectly complementing the brand’s avant-garde design language.

For those with larger wrists, the 45mm case fits comfortably, making it ideal for both slope-side wear and après-ski activities. The branding is subtle enough that it won’t look out of place beyond the mountains, giving it versatility beyond its winter sports theme.
