Seiko Introduces the Prospex LX GMT U.S. Special Edition SNR058
In December 2025, Seiko expanded its Prospex LX collection with a U.S. market exclusive reference that combines professional tool watch engineering with an unusually warm and expressive colour palette. The Prospex LX GMT U.S. Special Edition SNR058 is powered by a Spring Drive movement and presents a visual language rarely seen within Seiko’s most utilitarian line.
Although comparisons with well known GMT colour schemes are inevitable, the watch remains firmly rooted in Seiko’s own design and technical philosophy.

Titanium construction and balanced proportions
At first glance, the Prospex LX GMT appears imposing. The case measures 44.8 mm in diameter, 14.7 mm in thickness, with a lug to lug distance of 50.9 mm. Despite these dimensions, the watch wears lighter than expected due to its titanium construction. The case is finished with Seiko’s proprietary super hard coating, increasing scratch resistance while preserving a purposeful, tool oriented appearance.
A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a screw down crown and screw down caseback ensure a water resistance rating of 100 metres. These specifications place the watch squarely within the professional Prospex framework rather than the realm of purely lifestyle oriented GMT models.

Bezel and dial design
The defining aesthetic feature of the SNR058 is its GMT bezel. It is fitted with a dual tone sapphire insert in black and brown, accented by rose gold toned markings. This combination frames the dial with a strong visual identity while remaining cohesive with the overall LX design language.
The dial itself features a black to brown gradient developed specifically for this reference. Seiko cites the North America Nebula, located approximately 2,000 light years from Earth, as the source of inspiration. The effect is subtle rather than dramatic, with the gradient shifting character depending on lighting conditions.
Applied hour markers and hands are filled with LumiBrite to ensure legibility, while the GMT hand is finished in a matching rose gold tone for clear differentiation.

Spring Drive GMT movement
The layout of the dial immediately signals the presence of a Spring Drive calibre, most notably through the power reserve indicator positioned on the dial. Inside the case is the Spring Drive GMT calibre 5R66, a movement that combines a traditional mechanical gear train with electronic regulation.
Accuracy is rated at plus or minus one second per day, or approximately plus or minus fifteen seconds per month. The movement offers a power reserve of around 72 hours and provides true GMT functionality, allowing the local hour hand to be adjusted independently.
Bracelet and positioning
The watch is delivered on a titanium bracelet with a folding clasp and push button release. The bracelet matches the case in both material and finish, reinforcing the cohesive, professional character of the LX series.
The Prospex LX GMT U.S. Special Edition SNR058 is not announced as a limited edition. Pricing is positioned at approximately 6,600 US dollars, placing it within the upper tier of the Prospex range and reflecting both the Spring Drive movement and the LX line’s technical ambitions.
Closing perspective
The Prospex LX GMT U.S. Special Edition SNR058 demonstrates Seiko’s ability to adapt its most advanced platforms to specific markets without diluting their core identity. Beneath the warm colour accents lies a robust titanium case, a highly sophisticated Spring Drive GMT movement and the disciplined design logic that defines the LX collection.
Rather than relying on heritage narratives, Seiko continues to differentiate itself through engineering, precision and a willingness to explore new aesthetic territory within a professional framework.
