Breitling Refreshes the Chronomat Collection

Generate AI summary

Breitling has unveiled an updated Chronomat collection, building on the redesign introduced in 2020 while incorporating a series of updates across the collection.

The refreshed range consists of three core models: the Chronomat B01 42 chronograph, the Chronomat Automatic B31 40 and the Chronomat Automatic 36. Across the collection, Breitling offers a total of 22 different configurations.

Redesigned Case and Integrated Bracelet

Cases and bracelets are available in stainless steel, two-tone steel and gold combinations, as well as full gold versions.

The main update across the collection is the integrated bracelet design. Previous Chronomat models featured a more traditional lug construction with decorative end links connecting the case to the bracelet. The updated design adopts enclosed lugs, creating a more barrel-shaped profile and a visually seamless transition between the case and bracelet.

For the steel and two-tone models, Breitling has also introduced a micro-adjustment system. This allows the bracelet to be extended by one link on each side of the concealed folding clasp without removing the watch from the wrist.

Simplified Bezel and Expanded Dial Colours

The bezel has also been redesigned. Previously constructed from 18 separate components, it is now manufactured as a single-piece element.

Dial options include white, green, blue, grey, brown and light blue. Models featuring light blue dials are paired with platinum bezels.

Chronomat B01 42

The Chronomat B01 42 has been refined to improve everyday comfort.

Case thickness has been reduced from 15.1mm to 13.77mm. The tachymeter scale has been relocated to the bezel, improving legibility and creating a cleaner design. The protective guards surrounding the crown have also been reduced in size, making winding and time-setting easier.

Powering the watch is Breitling's calibre 01, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph movement with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.

Pricing starts at approximately $9,900.

Chronomat Automatic B31 40

The Chronomat Automatic B31 40 is powered by the COSC-certified calibre B31, introduced by Breitling the previous year.

The movement offers a power reserve of 78 hours and is housed in a 40mm case measuring 10.99mm thick.

This is the first Chronomat model displaying time and date to be offered in a gender-neutral 40mm case size.

Pricing starts at approximately $7,200.

Chronomat Automatic 36

The Chronomat Automatic 36 is another unisex model designed to suit a wide range of wrist sizes.

The case has been slimmed down from 10.01mm to 9.68mm in thickness.

Certain versions are available with natural mother-of-pearl dials and gem-set bezels.

Inside is the COSC-certified calibre 10, a movement based on a Sellita platform and offering a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.

Pricing starts at approximately $5,950.
