Introducing TAG Heuer's New Carrera Extreme Sport Collection
TAG Heuer has officially introduced six new models in its "Extreme Sport" collection. This includes four variations of the Chronograph Extreme Sport and two versions of the Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport. These watches represent an evolution in TAG Heuer's design, with the case structure significantly enhanced compared to earlier models.
The new case is sculpted to give a slimmer profile, despite its 44mm diameter and 15.1mm thickness; a design feature highlighted as a key aspect of improving the watch’s overall wearability. The case is finished with a combination of brushed and polished surfaces, while the sunken areas of the case are treated with a contrasting sandblasted finish. The tachymeter scale is positioned on a matte black ceramic bezel, offering a sleek yet functional look.
Key Features of the Chronograph Extreme Sport Models
All four versions of the Chronograph Extreme Sport are designed with high-performance materials. The caseback, pushers, and crown are crafted from DLC-coated titanium; the pushers and crown are made from grade-5 titanium, while the caseback uses grade-2 titanium. This construction enhances durability and ensures a lightweight feel on the wrist. One of the most distinctive aspects of this series is the skeletonized dial, which has been redesigned for improved legibility. Increased contrast on the bridges makes the dial easier to read, and unlike previous models, the chronograph subdials are hollowed out, with markings placed on the inner ring for added clarity. Additionally, a square of white Super-LumiNova is placed behind the open-worked date disc, ensuring the date remains visible even in low-light conditions. Each model is color-coordinated with accents on the chronograph seconds hand, subdials, seconds track, and date disc; the orange variant, in particular, stands out for its bold aesthetic.
The Extreme Sport models are powered by the modern Caliber TH20-00, the same movement used in TAG Heuer's Glassbox chronographs. This movement provides high precision and reliability, reinforcing the watches' position as both stylish and functional timepieces.
The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport Models
Alongside the Chronograph Extreme Sport, TAG Heuer has also unveiled two Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport models. These include an all-black version and a rose gold version. Both maintain the same 44mm case size but feature a tourbillon cut-out at 6 o'clock instead of a date wheel. Powered by the Calibre TH20-09, the tourbillon adds an extra layer of complexity and exclusivity to the timepiece. The black titanium model comes with a bezel made from black forged carbon, enhancing its rugged, monochromatic look. Meanwhile, the rose gold version features a polished rose gold bezel with black markings, offering a more refined and luxurious appearance.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport models are priced starting at 8,000 CHF, while the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport models start at 25,500 CHF. All models are set to be available for purchase this month.
