TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna

A contemporary tribute to the legendary driver built on the renewed Formula 1 platform

TAG Heuer continues to strengthen its connection with motorsport following its appointment last year as an official partner of Formula 1. Early in 2025 the brand unveiled a refreshed Formula 1 collection featuring new titanium cases, redesigned dials and integrated rubber straps. The latest addition to this updated line is the Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna, a mechanical tribute that incorporates the design codes of the new generation while honouring one of racing’s most celebrated figures.

A titanium case designed for performance

The watch is housed in a sandblasted grade 2 titanium case coated with dark DLC, providing a lightweight yet robust foundation. The case measures 44 millimetres in diameter and 14.3 millimetres in height, complemented by a forged carbon bezel fitted with a tachymeter scale. Yellow accents appear on the bezel and the reprofiled crown, echoing the yellow highlights on the dial and reinforcing the watch’s visual identity. Water resistance is rated at 200 metres, placing the model firmly within the brand’s sports watch tradition.

A dial shaped by the renewed Formula 1 aesthetic

The black dial adheres to the updated Formula 1 design philosophy, favouring clarity and high legibility. Applied hour markers and hands are coated with Super LumiNova, ensuring visibility in various lighting environments. The layout of the chronograph counters is designed to prioritise intuitive reading. A 30 minute counter is positioned at twelve o’clock, while the twelve hour counter sits at six o’clock and incorporates colours associated with Brazil. At nine o’clock, a small seconds subdial features a yellow S emblem referencing Senna.

A date window occupies the three o’clock position and is positioned close to the shield shaped TAG Heuer logo. The central chronograph seconds hand is lacquered in yellow, completing the visual balance without overwhelming the composition.

A proven automatic movement

The solid caseback carries an engraved depiction of Ayrton Senna’s eyes within the opening of his racing helmet, a motif long associated with the brand’s collaborations dedicated to him. Beneath the caseback lies the automatic Calibre 16, which corresponds to the Sellita SW510, itself derived from the architecture of the Valjoux 7750. Operating at 28800 vibrations per hour, the movement is known for reliability, straightforward servicing and a power reserve of 42 hours.

Strap options and availability

The Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna is supplied on a yellow rubber strap fitted with a DLC coated black pin buckle. The model is already available for purchase at a price of 5500 Swiss francs.

Alongside the mechanical chronograph, TAG Heuer has also released a quartz version with a 43 millimetre case and the brand’s signature S link bracelet. This model is limited to 3000 pieces and priced at 2550 Swiss francs.

The new Senna editions reaffirm the long standing relationship between TAG Heuer and the world of motorsport, bringing together contemporary materials, updated design and subtle nods to one of the most iconic figures in racing history.
