Chopard L.U.C Quattro Spirit of ‘72
On 5 February 2026, Chopard unveiled the L.U.C Quattro Spirit of ‘72, a unique piece created as a tribute to legendary racing driver and long standing brand ambassador Jacky Ickx.
At the centre of the watch is a dial executed in miniature painting, reproducing the well known photograph Ferrari 312 PB – 1972 by motorsport photographer Rainer Schlegelmilch. The image was captured in 1972 during the Spa 24 Hours in Belgium.

A Painted Tribute
The composition places Jacky Ickx’s Ferrari 312 PB in the foreground alongside the driver’s helmet. In the background, spectators in the grandstands appear blurred, reinforcing the sense of speed conveyed by the original photograph.
Case and Details
The case measures 40 mm by 10.30 mm and is crafted in 18 carat ethical white gold, finished with alternating satin brushing and polishing. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres.
The sapphire caseback features an engraved reproduction of Jacky Ickx’s signature and the inscription “1000 km de Spa 1972”. A discreet power reserve indicator is also positioned on the reverse.
Motorsport cues continue with a perforated calf leather strap secured by a buckle in ethical white gold. The perforations reference racing gloves and the grip surfaces used on vintage racing car steering wheels, designed for comfort and breathability at speed.
Calibre L.U.C 98.06L
Power comes from the hand wound calibre L.U.C 98.06L, first introduced in 2021. The movement features a jumping hour display and is defined by four mainspring barrels delivering an eight day power reserve while maintaining a slender thickness of 4.85 mm.
The paired barrel construction supports consistent torque delivery across the entire reserve, which is particularly important for the precise instantaneous change of the jumping hour.
The watch meets the strict requirements of the Geneva Seal and has been produced as a one off creation.
